Welcome to the Industrial Libraries Homepage.  Our district includes two elementary, one junior high, and one high school library. The elementary libraries are available to students and faculty from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The junior and senior high libraries are open from 7:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Some extended hours are available on the high school campus when students are working on research units.

All campuses host several features for use by the students and faculty including a  Follett OPAC system, Internet access, and availability to various electronic databases which aid students in reference and school projects.  Several computers are in each of  the libraries for these purposes.  A computerized barcode system automatically scans books students are checking out or returning.  The system also provides electronic card cataloging which allows for easy location of books and other reference materials by searching by an author's name, subject, or title.

The Accelerated Reader program is in all of the libraries.  This self-paced, individualized reading program allows each student to read at his or her reading level or beyond, take a computerized quiz on the book, see the score immediately after testing, and awards the student points based on test performance.  These records move with the students from grade to grade as they advance through the years. Various reward programs as well as grades have been used by teachers to encourage the students to get as many points as possible. Reports from parents, teachers, and standardized test scores have been impressive. Reading is a skill.  The more one does it, the better he/she becomes, and this success carries over into other aspects of learning. Our goal is to have the students become capable, lifelong readers.
